an ‘arrest-ing development’

arresteddevA few years ago Beth and I developed an addiction to a show on NBC called The Office (great episode tonight, by the way).

The problem with getting hooked on a tv show (yes, we know that some of you would argue that there are a lot of problems with getting hooked on a tv show) is that, eventually, you run out of episodes and experience a period of withdraws.

For our fellow Office buddies out there, you have felt our pain and probably been introduced to Arrested Development, a show oftentimes bandied about as a common go-to for Office fans who need a shot of off-beat, well-written, zany humor-filled television.

Beth and I, while reticent and even a bit disappointed initially, eventually came to really enjoy the brilliant writing and unbelievable characters on the show.  While the show may be a bit over the top for some of you, we really enjoy kicking back, popping in a season of Arrested Development and laughing our heads off.

You may be waiting for some worldview and culture related thoughts with an introduction like that, but really this has been an over-glorified introduction to a handful of photos.

The other day we popped in one of our favorite episodes “Mr.F” (season 3, episode 5) and sprawled out on the floor of our den to enjoy a good laugh.  We were joined in our entertainment pleasure by my buddy Matt Elia (who lived with us this past Spring after a tornado destroyed his dorm room at Union University).

Matt also happens to be a photojournalist who cannot help but snap shots any time he can get his hands on a camera.  He snagged our Nikon and snapped some shots of Beth and I mid-episode:

***The following is a tribute to the Arrested Development fans out there who check out this blog.  You know who you are – and you know why this song is so awesome!
