Abigail Ruth Wilson was born on February 19, 2009 at 11:11 am.

She is fantastic.

After she was born, we discovered that there was a problem with some of her newborn screening tests.  Following a visit to a big scary children’s hospital in Memphis and a “nuclear scan”, we discovered that Abbey has a sublingual thyroid (her thyroid didn’t drop down far enough) and congenital hypothyroidism.

The crazy thing is that, while her condition is incredibly serious, is is easily managed with a tiny bit of medicine given to her every day … probably for the rest of her life.

That all worked out, Abbey sleeps soundly, laugh’s loudly, cries rarely, and eats very well.

She consistently weighs and measures in at the 90th percentile across the board, so she is probably a month or two younger than you would think if you saw her.
