beth’s sufferings

Two days ago the thermometer showed 45 degrees.

We were taking our Christmas card photos – I felt fine, Abbey was fine, but Beth was prancing in circles like an arctic elf engaged in some pagan fire dance.

I thought Beth was going to shrivel up and die as we stood in that field at the foot of a century old barn.

At first I was baffled, I didn’t marry a sissy girl who couldn’t handle a chill on the wind.

Then it hit me, this baby bundled up in my arms was inside of Beth last year.

This sweet cherubic child was an internal space heater nestled in her mother’s womb.

Beth didn’t really experience the winter a year ago.

What an incredible year its been.

. . . . .

Big thanks to Ben Peacock and Cari Phillips for the fantastic Christmas photos!

Yeah…for real. We remember taking your pictures last year…in the snow…in Louisville…below 30 degrees. Beth was absolutely fine. Lee, you were fine too — but in a different way.
