bad hair day

The last time we took Abbey to the doctor, the nurse saw little Abbey and said:

“Aww, she’s so sweet.  You just can’t help but love babies that can entertain themselves.”

Beth and I look at each other, look at the nurse … she says:

“I can tell by a baby’s hair pattern when they self-entertain in the crib.”

She read our Abbey like a book.

But you can see that for yourself:

What exactly happens when a baby is “self-entertaining”?

She wakes up and plays in her crib for 30 minutes before crying out for breakfast.  Game of preference – the “turn my head back and forth to rub all the hair off the sides and back of my head” game.

Quite entertaining, don’t you think?

. . . . . .

As exciting as the back of her head is, I know that I would be scolded if I didn’t also post a photo of Abbey’s sweet little face:

. . . . . .

By the way, these photos are recent – so Abbey is a few days past 5 1/2 months.
