from the hospital: discharge instructions (24)

Time to go home!

You may not know it, but when you take a baby home you must first endure a fairly lengthy list of “thou shalt nots”

Most of those are baby care and mama care instructions – but there is one instruction that applies to all of our friends in Jackson who want to come visit:

. . . . . . .

Baby Abbey, You, & Flu

Abbey, being a little tiny baby, is really susceptible to getting the flu.

The flu is really dangerous for a little baby like Abbey to get – she has a little tiny system and the flu could be really dangerous (even lethal) for her to contract.

Here’s the bad news –

if you have recently had the flu . . .

if your roommate has recently had the flu . . .

if your wife/fiance/boyfriend/girlfriend/best friend has had the flu . . .

if you have spent time hanging out with a “flu victim . . .

. . . then you might not be safe for little Abbey to spend time with, which means that you are going to have to endure one of the least pleasant ‘fruit of the Spirit’ – patience.

. . . . . . .

Seriously, I don’t want to rain on parades because we know that we have a lot of friends who want to come and visit little Abbey.

We have a lot of friends who we really want to come and visit Abbey.

But it is important for you to help us protect little Abbey from getting the flu because of how dangerous it can be for her.

In order to attempt to end this post on a positive note – her is a video and a photo to tide over the ‘baby cravings’ you may be experiencing:

happy mama and her happy healthy baby

happy mama and her happy healthy baby

. . . . . . .

Again, for those of you who are affected by the ‘no flu’ rule – we are sad that it will delay your visiting Abbey.

Maybe we can work out something on the Skype?

Congrats many times over on squeezing your little soybean out! May the Lord richly bless your flu-free house and keep you sane during the upcoming sleepless nights :)
