andy.P: best Christmas album ever

A couple of years ago Beth and I were introduced to Andrew Peterson‘s ‘Behold the Lamb of God‘, which we quickly recognized to be the best Christmas CD ever produced.

andrewpetersonTry to argue anything differently.

Seriously, just try.

I am being antagonistic for a reason.  If you have never listened to ‘Behold the Lamb of God’, you really must.

It sounds audacious to say that Behold the Lamb manages to tell the entire Christmas story from the beginning of creation to Jesus’ birth, explaining how Christ is the fulfillment of everything that God said and did in the Old Testament.

Then, if I told you that this story and its accompanying theology is a musical and lyrical masterpiece, would you believe me?

What if I added that you would really enjoy the album? Even singing along with Andrew Peterson as he sings an entire song that consists exclusively of Jesus’ family tree back to Abraham?

This album does all of that and more.  It is, all things considered, probably the single best album I have ever heard, Christmas themed or no.

If you need more convincing, check out the video documentary on Behold the Lamb below, if you’re already sold, just scroll down to the bottom of this post and buy the album … and start listening immediately.
