current.com: the new news

If you want to have a quick crash course experience in postmodern culture, jump on over to current.com or grab your remote control and flip your satellite to the Current_TV.

What about current makes it the first postmodern news channel?

Current has made impressive strides to create a new media that combines the flexibility and interaction of the blog-o-media with the television accessibility of the mainstream.  How does this play out for current?

Viewers are actively involved in the creation of news segments (videos and articles), participate by choosing the order of news segments as the appear on the website and the news channel, and viewer feedback is incorporated into the news channel through the crawl on the bottom of the screen.

On top of the interactive involvement with the news, current.com also solicits viewers to produce product advertisements to be shown on the television station.  At the moment, you the viewer have the opportunity to create an ad for the Nikon S60, should you get the itch.

So, if you want to be a part of something bigger than yourself, you are tired of the “same old news”, like to edit videos on your Mac, and want the news you want when you want it – check out current.com.
